Pork Rock Monday…(OK, it’s actually Beef)

Sir Aaron Levy sent me a link to this little gem –greasefreak.com– and Chicago’s (in)famous tube steak. Check out the Chicago Style Dog in all its glory. Is it wrong I now want a hot dog at 8:13am? Thanks, mano, how the hell am I supposed to be thinking about eating better now? Get inspired!

Punk may not be Dead…

…But Punk Planet is. So, you may or may not have heard by now, but Punk Planet is ceasing publication after the next issue, #80. You can read all about it here. There’s not really a whole lot I can say that hasn’t been said already, over and over on the interslice. They had a good run, were faithful to Chicago, the independent music scene, independent publishing, their readers and friends. There is really not a whole lot more you can ask from a media outlet (or is there?). So I guess this means that we are stuck with Maximum Rock n’ Roll and a hand full of others from now on. Great…

Here Comes the Sun…Update

UPDATE: Sadly YouTube pulled the vid of Colin Hay and other members of the All Starr Band sound checking with “Here Comes the Sun”. Bugger…If you didn’t get a chance to check it out, I truly am sorry. In lieu of said video, I give you Colin Hay on Scrubs from Season 2. Overkill is a song that has gotten me thru quite a bit in the last year or so.

I do like the homage to Animal House at the end of the scene…
